About the ACFT

The Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) consists of six events designed to measure soldiers' physical fitness and readiness for combat tasks. A minimum score of 60 points is required for each event, with a total minimum score of 360 points to pass the test.

Understanding the ACFT

The ACFT replaced the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) as the official fitness assessment for U.S. Army soldiers. It consists of six events: Maximum Deadlift (MDL), Standing Power Throw (SPT), Hand-Release Push-Ups (HRP), Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC), Leg Tuck or Plank (LTK/PLK), and 2-Mile Run.

Scoring System

Each event is scored from 0-100 points, with a total possible score of 600 points. The minimum passing score is 360 points (60 points per event). Scoring standards vary by age and gender. Higher scores reflect better combat readiness and physical fitness.

Training Tips

To improve your ACFT score: incorporate functional strength training, practice event-specific techniques, focus on compound movements (deadlifts, squats), build cardiovascular endurance, and maintain proper form. Consistent training 4-5 times per week yields the best results for test preparation.
